The jumbo tube cascade & container can be shipped by standard containers, open top containers, or bulk cargo based on sizes. The cylinder cascade will be delivered with special protection if in container.

Is the CAES Jumbo the same product as the CNG Jumbo?

Same product family, different medium. Both use φ559 × 11,580 mm seamless steel tubes in 4142 high-strength steel with a 14.8 mm wall, rated 25 MPa at −50 ℃ to 65 ℃, built to ISO 11120. The CNG version moves natural gas; the CAES version stores compressed air for grid peak-shaving. Because air is far less dense, the same footprint holds about 75.6% of the CNG figure

How much energy does one storage unit hold?

Extractable work is an ideal adiabatic estimate: about 13.8 kWh per m³ of water volume. Actual electricity delivered further depends on expander efficiency and thermal management; e.g. 12-tube water capacity 29.4m³≈405(kWh)

How does it compare with lithium-ion batteries?

They complement rather than replace each other. Tube-bank air storage wins on life and safety: on the order of 20 years of design life, no capacity-fade retirement, no thermal-runaway fire risk, extremely low self-discharge (hours to seasonal), and recyclable steel. Lithium is usually cheaper and more efficient for short durations up to 2–4 hours. Rule of thumb: minutes to four hours — lithium first; long duration, large capacity, long life and high safety — CAES tube banks first. Indicative round-trip efficiency: 42–55% diabatic, 60–70% adiabatic.
